Website Evaluation

I will be evaluating the website Literature Learning Ladders at http://eduscapes.com/ladders/themes/interactive.htm. This website consists of collaborative and interactive online projects and was chosen to assist staff in using technology in the classroom setting. My campus is currently experiencing a minimum use of computers in the classroom due to the low student to computer ratio in classrooms. The information found on the website will be useful to introduce teachers to ideas about how to use the computers that are in their classrooms in a collaborative learning environment. The website gives numerous links for teachers and students to follow with instructions about how to get students involved with online projects. The links give step by step instructions about how to execute certain technology tasks from collaborative projects to interactive websites, games and activities. This website is user friendly and allows educators to maneuver through the information with ease while at the same time being time efficient. Although the website is easily accessed and useable it does contain a large amount of information. This could be a discouragement to teachers that feel that there is a lack of time in the teaching day. The best way to use this website would be to thoroughly investigate all the links for usefulness and then divide the links up among groups of teachers and have the teachers present the information that was found on their particular link. This type of presentation would allow all staff to learn what could be found on the website in a short amount of time and then teachers could return the website and further investigate those areas that would be of most use in their particular classrooms. This website is useful technology information in education because of the various links that are provided for teacher and student use.
